Commercial Combined Insurance

Buying the right cover for your business needs to be as simple and straightforward as possible.  We will help you get the correct cover your that business requires by working closely with you and making sure you understand everything clearly.  We try to cut out much of the insurance jargon and aim to make buying an insurance policy a simple and painless process.

The covers below tend to make up what is commonly referred to as a Commercial Combined policy, though some are optional:

    • Employers Liability
    • Public Liability
    • Product Liability
    • Material Damage
    • Business Interruption
    • Money
    • Goods in Transit
    • Legal Expenses

Wherever possible, we aim to tailor all our policies to each of our clients own individual business requirements, thus providing them with a bespoke package and the further peace of mind that they definitely have all of the relevant covers that their business requires.

Employers Liability Insurance is a legal requirement if you have 1 or more employees or you are a Ltd company with more than one director.   This cover insures you for claims arising from your own liability to cover employee illness, injury or death.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) enforces the law on EL Insurance and HSE inspectors can check whether you have Employers Liability in force with an approved insurer.   They may ask to see your Certificate of Insurance and you can be fined up to £2,500 for any day which you are without suitable insurance.  If you do not display the Certificate of Insurance or refuse to make it available to a HSE inspector if they ask, you can also be fined up to £1,000 on the spot.

Further information relating to Employers Liability Insurance and whether or not you need to purchase this cover can be found on the government website or by downloading this PDF.

Public Liability Insurance protects a business against claims arising from the injury to a person who does not work for the company.  It also includes any damage to a person's own property too; this is known as third party property damage.

Product Liability Insurance is normally supplied packaged together with Public Liability.  Product Liability Insurance covers the legal liabilities established in The Consumer Protection Act 1987.  Legal action by people who are injured by defective products is common and they can sue for compensation without having to prove the producer negligent too, provided that they can prove that the product was defective and the defect in the product caused the injury.  Product Liability simply protects a business against the legal liability to pay damages for death, injury or damage caused by defects in products designed, manufactured or supplied.  The insurance policy should also cover solicitors' fees, court expenses, damages and the claimant's costs should they win.

We also offer an extensive choice of optional covers that can be joined together with a Commercial Combined policy, items like Directors & Officers Liability, Loss Recovery, Personnel Accident/Travel & Motor Vehicle Fleet.
